DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   
The President’s Office is seeking an experienced Policy and Planning Specialist to provide financial and budgetary support to the President, Chief of Staff, Associate Vice President for Compliance, Financial and Policy Advisors, select members of the President’s Cabinet and Board of Visitors. The Policy and Planning Specialist will assist the Chief of Staff/President in managing the President’s and Chief of Staff budgets; resolve routine issues and concerns of students, parents, alumni, vendors, and other constituencies of the University that contacts the Office of the President; and assist with the development of policies and procedures for efficient operation of the office. Additionally, the successful candidate will exercise judgment to determine appropriate handling of urgent and politically sensitive information and situations concerning students, staff, faculty and the administration. Participates in university designated activities, prepares files and process requisitions for budgetary review. 
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Comprehensive knowledge of office practices and procedures demonstrating abilities to interpret and apply policies and procedures; to collect and organize data; to multi-task, prioritize assignments, meet established deadlines; and to work with confidential information. Knowledge of and experience with budget management, formulation, analysis, and projections. Past experience managing data, conducting research, and preparing budgetary reports. Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Banner and Banner Finance (University’s current system of record). 
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A degree in Business (Finance or Accounting) or 5 years related experience.
 
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidate must pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting and must complete a Statement of Personal Economic Interests as a condition of employment, if applicable.
