Duties and Responsibilities: The Extension Housing Specialist provides leadership in developing, implementing and evaluating housing educational programs at the local, state and national level. The specialist will also have primary responsibility for creating and implementing affordable housing and home ownership programs, as well as providing technical assistance for these programs. The specialist must be able to work with county agents and others to provide high quality educational programming to address local needs, establish relationships with governmental agencies and organizations.

 

Required Qualifications: Master’s Degree required (Ph.D. preferred) in housing, housing and the environment or closely related area. Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and evaluate Extension educational programs for diverse audiences including limited resource individuals and families. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with various audiences using written and oral skills. Ability to function as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
