When you see her running you ask the question, does she have wings for feet?
Asha Biney, a junior from Seattle, Washington broke an indoor record. In the indoor 60 meter race she ran 7.9 seconds.
She was the first to run in under 8 seconds.
Virginia State University offered her a track scholarship her freshman year so she
couldn't deny the opprtunity.
Biney runs in the indoor and the outdoor season. In the indoor she runs the 60 and 200 meter races. In outdoor she runs the 100, 200, four-by-one relay, and the four-by-two relay.
Last season in an indoor track meet, Biney severly injured her hamstring causing her to sit out the remainder of the indoor season.
Once she recovered she ran in the outdoor season and help lead her relay team to nationals.
"The thing I like about my team is that from freshman year to now there is more dedication, everyone wants to push more," said Biney.
"When the road your trudging seems all up hill, it's times like that you must not quit." Biney said that while running track is fun, but it is also a job, sometimes you want to quit but you have to press through and don't because the end reward is great.
