ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR, TENURE-TRACK

APPLIED MATHEMATICS/STATICS

APPOINTMENT DATE:                    FALL 2009

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach undergraduate courses in Mathematics and Statistics for majors and non-majors, as well as graduate courses. Provide academic advisement; participate in scholarly and research endeavors; engage in grant/proposal writing; and serve on departmental, school and university committees.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate must have an earned doctorate in Applied Mathematics with an interest in the area of Actuarial/Financial Mathematics or Statistics; an established record of excellence I teaching at a college level with evidence of new and advancing research and scholarly achievement; and a record of scholarly publications. The successful applicant will have the potential to, or demonstrated ability to establish a research program in their area of expertise that involves undergraduate students. The appointed individual also must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds. Recent Ph.D. graduates are encouraged to apply.
