Clinical Psychology

The Clinical Psychology program at Virginia State University is a two-year, 45-hour program.  The mission of the program is to prepare students to work in the public mental health sector.  Many of our graduates are employed in state mental health agencies, prisons, hospitals, and other mental health agencies.  The program also prepares students to pursue educational work at the doctoral level.  Several graduates have successfully obtained admission into PhD and PsyD programs.  Many of our graduates pursue the Licensed Professional Counselor credential.  As part of the program requirements, students must complete a research thesis and three (3) semesters of practicum work.  For additional information, please contact Program Coordinator, Dr. Katrina L. Walker at (804)524-5463 or kwalker@vsu.edu.
