The Department of Psychology offers PhD and Master's degrees.

Clinical Health Psychology - This area of study focuses on understanding how biological, behavioral, and social factors influence health and illness. Students interested in working in hospitals, physical rehabilitation settings, outpatient clinics, and other health services settings as members of multidisciplinary teams should apply to this track.
Behavioral and Community Health Sciences - This area of study will focus on research in the areas of health promotion and disease prevention by examining related psychological, social, emotional and behavioral factors in physical and mental health. This area of study will include a strong emphasis on research in social conditions such as cultural influences, family relationships and social support. Areas of interest will include health systems and services, health policy and community based research and services.

Clinical Psychology - If students' vocational goals include working in counseling or personal services, they should pursue the clinical concentration. Outstanding performance in either area may lead to college teaching. Advisors are appointed to aid students in selecting and developing a program in terms of their interests.
General Psychology - Students interested in becoming community college teachers, researchers, or in pursuing further study toward the doctorate are advised to select the concentration in general psychology. In addition, those interested in pursuing doctoral work in school psychology can take educational psychology courses through the general psychology concentration.
