William Cox has been teaching as an adjunct instructor at VSU since 1990. He specializes in watercolor and silkscreen printing, but also teaches courses in drawing, 2D design, color theory, and crafts.

Mr. Cox earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Art from Elizabeth City State University and a Master of Arts in Educational Media from Virginia State University. He has also studied at the Corcoran and the Art Institute of Atlanta, where he earned certificates. He taught art at Hopewell High School from 1975 until his retirement as the Department Chairman in 2004.

He currently operates a silkscreen printing business in Petersburg. Mr. Cox remains active in the arts community, displaying his watercolors and drawings in local and regional exhibits.
