VSU Weekend College at John Tyler CC-Chester

Virginia State University offers a limited number of classes in the Weekend College format at the John Tyler Community College Campus in Chester.  This campus is on Rt. 301/Jefferson Davis Highway, near the intersection with Rt. 10.  Please look at the  map of the JTCC-Chester Campus to locate your classroom.  Classes are generally held in Bird Hall.

Courses in the weekend college are generally 16 weeks in length, but only meet on alternate weekends, for a total of eight meetings during the semester.  The classes are scheduled on either Friday evening or Saturday morning.  To compensate for the abridged classroom time, considerable additional work will be assigned between classes, and assignments and contact with the instructor will be arranged and expected using distance learning technology.  Please be sure to consult the Off-Campus Schedule for the BIS degree program to get the exact class meeting dates and times, and the location of your class.  A link to this schedule can be found at the top of the main BIS degree page.

Textbooks for these JTCC courses will be available in the VSU bookstore.  No special parking permit is needed for these classes.
