Vice President for Administration and Finance

Mission Statement:
To assist the University in fulfilling its mission by providing outstanding leadership, financial and general management functions that meet or exceed state and national standards, or recommended practices.

The campus budget exceeds $129 M, and the campus grounds total over 636.70 acres with over 119 buildings. The Vice President also serves as University representative on the Board of Visitors Committee for Facilities, Finance and Audit. Additionally, the Vice President serves as a key University official in legislative matters involving major resource committees, including the Senate Finance Committee, and House Appropriations Committee with the Virginia General Assembly.

The Vice President of Administration and Finance oversees the management of the following University units:

  • Budget Operations
  • Treasury and Cash Management
  • Financial Reporting
  • Controller’s Office
  • Capital Outlay
  • Facilities Management
  • Auxiliary and Business Services
  • Risk Management
  • Procurement
  • Telecommunications and Virginia State 1 Card

Functions:

  • To promulgate policies governing financial and selected administrative functions
  • Develop systems, procedures and structures of internal control
  • Provide essential administrative support services
  • Provide planning, leadership and coordination to support the mission of the University
  • Support the specific goals established by the University's President
