Joanne curtis taylor, CPA

The Virginia State University Board of Visitors named Ms. Joanne Curtis Taylor as Chief Audit Executive effective January 25. 2006.  Ms. Curtis Taylor had been serving as the University's Associate Vice President for Administration and Finance since November 2003.  She joined the University in February 1994 as Assistant Controller and served as Controller from July 1998 to November 2003.  Ms. Curtis Taylor arrived at Virginia State University from the Auditor of Public Accounts where she had been employed since September 1982 in staff and senior level positions.

Ms. Curtis Taylor holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Virginia Commonwealth University and is a Certified Public Accountant in the Commonwealth of Virginia.  She is currently pursuing a Master's in Public Administration.

Ms. Curtis Taylor is a member of serveral professional and philanthropic organizations and she and her busband, Tony, are blessed with two children, a grandson, and very close family members.
