HOW DO I GET TO FORT LEE?
Lee Ave. Gate: Exit the VSU campus by the football field, and turn right on River Rd. Go about 3/4 mile to the Boulevard. Turn right on the Boulevard. After you cross the Appomattox River, go to the second stop light and turn left on E. Bank Street. Stay on E. Bank Street until it ends at E. Washington Street/Rt. 36 East. Turn left on E. Washington St. and go about 1.9 miles to the entrance to Fort Lee on your right.
Mahone Ave. Gate: From I-95, take exit 50/Bus 460 E, and follow 460E. At first stoplight on 460 E., turn left on Rt. 109/Hickory Hill Road to Fort Lee. This brings you onto Ft. Lee by the new Logistics University.
Sisisky Gate: From the Boulevard in Colonial Heights or Exit 54 from I-95 take Temple Ave. until it ends at Rt. 36. Cross route 36 and enter Fort Lee.
WHAT DO I NEED TO ENTER FORT LEE?
Students who enroll in classes offered at Fort Lee must get a pass to enter Fort Lee.
Please contact the VSU Fort Lee office at (804) 862-6269 or 765-3300, or the VSU main campus at (804) 524-5377 and request a Fort Lee Contractor Vehicle Registration form.
Once you have the referenced form, you will have to go to the Dukes Welcome Center at the Lee Avenue gate to Fort Lee (off Rt. 36), and get your pass. Passes are issued from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, M-F. Enter the Lee Ave. Gate, and take the first immediate right turn to the Dukes Welcome Center. Present them with the Vehicle Registration form and also have your:
(1) Driver's License
(2) Vehicle Registration Card
(3) Insurance Card (proof of insurance)
Your pass will be good for the duration of your course. If you take courses during both 8 week terms in a semester, be sure to request a pass for the entire 16 week semester.
WHERE IS MY FORT LEE CLASS?
VSU currently schedules classes in Building 6047 and Bldg. 12011 (behind Soldier One-Stop). The map of Ft. Lee will help you locate these buildings.
BLDG 6047: Enter the Lee Ave. gate. At first light turn left on A Ave. Stay on A Ave. to 16th Street, and turn left on 16th St. At stop light turn right on Shop Road; then take next immediate right to Mekong Rd. (Mekong Rd. runs parallel to Shop Rd., and gives you access to the row of white buildings along Shop/Mekong Rds.) BLDG 6047 is the 4th building on your right. Facing the building, enter from the left side through the second door. The classroom is along the wall to your right.
BLDG 12011: Enter the Lee Ave. gate. At first light, turn right on A Avenue and continue on A to Mahone Ave. At Mahone Ave. intersection, continue straight, and you will see Soldier One Stop on your right; turn right after this building onto 34th St. and right behind One Stop is a parking lot for the two modules with classrooms. BLDG 12011 is on the right side.
