Directions to Virginia State University

Virginia State University is Approximately 125 miles south of Washington, DC. And 20 miles south of Richmond, via I-95 south
Arriving by I- 95 South from Richmond, Washington D.C, etc.
Follow I-95 South to Petersburg. Take the Va-144 exit-exit 54 (Temple Avenue). Turn left onto Temple Avenue and continue to second traffic light (Boulevard). Turn left at Boulevard and continue to fourth traffic light (Dupuy Avenue). Turn right at Dupuy Avenue which changes to River Road. The campus will be to your left. Enter at Matthews-Jefferson Drive. (See North Campus Main Entrance Area.)
Arriving by I-64 from Norfolk (east) or Charlottesville (west)
From Richmond, take exit I-95 South. Follow I-95 South to Petersburg. Take exit 54 (Temple Avenue). Turn left at Temple Avenue and continue to second traffic light (Boulevard). Arriving by US 460 Suffolk (east) or Roanoke (west)
Take US 460 to I-95 North. Follow I-95 North and take exit 54 (Temple Avenue). Turn left at Temple Avenue and continue to second traffic light (Boulevard). Turn left at Boulevard and continue to fourth traffic light (Dupuy Avenue). Turn right at Dupuy Avenue which changes to River Road. The campus will be to your left. Enter at Matthews-Jefferson Drive.  Arriving by I-85 North or I-95 North from North Carolina
Follow I-85 North to I-95 North. Take I-95 North to Petersburg, exit 54 (Temple Avenue). Turn left at Temple Avenue and continue to second traffic light (Boulevard). Turn left at Boulevard and continue to fourth traffic light (Dupuy Avenue). Turn right at Dupuy Avenue which changes to River Road. The campus will be to your left. Enter at Matthews-Jefferson Drive.
