Howard Hall

Howard Hall, a freshmen female residence hall, was named in honor of Otelia Sheild Howard an English teacher and an adviser to the Virginia Statesman newspaper. Howard Hall features central air- conditioning throughout the building. It also has laundry facilities and a computer lab with Internet and word processing capabilities.
Residence Educators (RE), who are full‑time professional staff, are responsible for the overall supervision of the residence halls. Resident Assistants (RA) and Graduate Assistants (GA) function as para-professionals and assist the RE in their duties. Night Managers assist the RE with overnight coverage.
