Banner Student - Self Service Training
Process for Pre-Registration (begins on April 16, 2007)
This process flowchart shows how Pre-Registration in Banner will work.
It begins with the student visiting his/her faculty advisor. The faculty advisor will review the student's academic record in SIS Plus or an unofficial transcript from SIS Plus, and provide to the student a list of recommended courses that are pertinent to the student's academic program. The faculty advisor will also give the student an Alternate PIN (sometimes called a Registration PIN). The student will need this Alternate PIN to gain access to the Registration screens in Banner.
The student, with recommended courses and Alt PIN in hand, will then register for Fall '07 classes.
Difficulties with registration will have to be referred to the Registrar's office.
Banner Self Service Quick Reference Guide for Academic Advisors
This guide is the same guide handed out to participants in Banner training.
It concisely shows exactly what the faculty advisor needs to know for advising their students on recommended courses. It also shows how to provide the Alt PIN that the student needs for Banner registration.
