After VSU #33 Aubrey Brown bucketed a basket to tie the game at 6 – 6, #5 Rodney Henry drove baseline, waved “bye bye” to his defender, and blew a kiss to a Woo Woo just before he hopped to the hoop for two. Shortly thereafter, True Foundation’s #3 Le’Greg Harrison hit a three-pointer. Harrison’s Phi Beta Sigma, Inc. Brother Henry followed suit with his own three-pointer and give the Trojans a 13 – 6 lead. WSSU answered with yet another gunned in three-pointer by Guinn. The Rams’ sniper shooting guard was the only WSSU player to score until around the 12 minute mark, #42 Audly Wehner made an offensive put back. The Rams took an 18 – 16 lead with an assist from #32 Greg Lewis to #34 Curtis Hines for the lay-up. The lead would perish rather quickly as Brown buried a behind the arc basket and when Harrison’s lofted a 32 cent stamped assist to Askew for a one hand jam! At the six minutes mark, the game was knotted at 24 – 24. The Trojans’ Henderson was unfortunately bound to the bench due to the fact he had reached the unforeseen status of being one charge away from fouling out. WSSU’s Guinn “Ginsui ®” cut the tie with an offensive rebound and put back, but the Trojans received two more three-pointers by Blue Phi Birthday Bash Boys Henry and Harrison. Before the intermission, the Trojans would get a jumper by #22 Michael Johnson, but the Trojans were down 34 – 37.

VSU began the second half with a BANG as #33 delivered a back door assist to Hangtime Henderson for the awesome alley-hoop. Henderson kept the energy going as on the very next play he passed to Askew for the lay-up. Trojans fans witnessed even more high flying action when Henry took flight with a steal and finished with a thunderous dunk! Despite a three-pointer by #20 Jamar Fleming and then another by Harrison, WSSU held on to a loose 46 – 44 lead. The Trojans karate chopped the Rams to be within one (56 – 55) after #50 Jahmel Raymond’s three-point play. VSU took a 59 – 58 lead around the seven minutes mark with two free throws. However, Guinn recaptured the lead for the Rams with his fifth three-pointer. VSU was down but not out as once again, Henry levitated to the lane for a dazzling dunk. The Trojans were within three (68 – 65 WSSU). The Trojans’ comeback efforts were deadened with a drained three-pointer by WSSU’s Hines.

Leading in scoring for the Trojans was #5 Rodney Henry with 17 points. Additional scoring was provided by #24 Michael Askew with 13 points and #3 Le’Greg Harrison with 11 points. Also, Harrison and Henry combined for 10 of the Trojans’ 15 team assists.
