Lady Trojans vs. Lock Haven The Lady Trojans motored their way to Bloomsburg, PA to play in the Bloomsburg University Basketball Classic. In the first night, the Lady Trojans had to face Lock Haven University. It was close from start to finish, but Lock Haven University defeated VSU,75-71-OT. During the first 20-minutes, the Lady Trojans had balance scoring, but they didn’t shoot the ball very well from the field, hitting 10 of 32 for 31%. The free-throw line wasn’t kind to the Lady Trojans either, connecting on 4 of 10 for a low 40%. Erica Glasper had 6 points and 4 assists, Felicia Gibbs scored 5 points and blocked 2 shots and Laurice Lockhart contributed 8 points and 3 rebounds. Ginger Williams with 9 points and 4 rebounds and Elizabeth Gabrielle with 7 points and 2 rebounds led Lock Haven University. Lock Haven University didn’t shoot that much better from the field, dropping in 10 of 29 for 34%. From the free-throw line Lock Haven hit 5 of 7 for 71%. The Lady Trojans carried a 1-point lead into halftime, 27-26. In second 20-minutes the Lady Trojans were outscored by Lock Haven 40-39 and LHU shot much better from field, connecting on 15 of 33 for 45% and they shot well from behind the 3-point arc, hitting 8 of 14 for a smoking 57%. During the second half Erica Glasper tried put the Lady Trojans on back by scoring 17 second half points, pulling down 6 rebounds and dishing out 4 assists. Katina “KT” Walker added 11 points 2 assists and 2 steals. Felicia Gibbs and Caromekia Parker combined for 17 points and 15 rebounds for the game. On the other side of the court, Lock Haven had three players scoring double-figures: Shameka Lee 13, Ginger Williams 18 and Elizabeth Gabrielle with 15. The second 20-minutes ended in a 66-66 tie. In the overtime period the Lady Trojans were outscored 9-5 and they just couldn’t get started offensively.
