VSU Lady Trojans Grasp First as Trojans Take Second On September 29, 2005, the Virginia State University Men & Women Cross Country Team revisited Pocahontas State Park for their Legends Meet. VSU’s invited guests were the Panthers of Virginia Union University and the Columbia Union College Pioneers. The Lady Trojans took first place as they scored 35 points with five finishers. Biology Pre-Med major Aishah Mujahid was the first to complete the course for the Lady Trojans as she stepped in style to secure second place with a time of 22:00:00 (averaging 7:20 per mile) Twelve seconds later, Candice Brown trekked in at third place with a time of 22:12:00 (averaging 7:24 per mile). VSU’s Senior Marketing major Melvin Carter led all participants with a time of 32:34:00 (averaging 6:30 per mile). Carter and the other four competing Trojans totaled 39 points to take the second place spot. The NSU Invitational is scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m.
