2004-2005 Indoor Track Re-cap Coach Young came on board on November 10, 2004, the season started at University of Maryland Eastern Shore with two students qualifying for Nationals, Joe Williams and Andre Faulcon qualified for the long jump and Joe Williams Qualified for the triple jump. Andre Faulcon ran 6.89 good enough for second, Joe Williams won the long jump with a jump of 24 ¾, Chateece Chappelle placed 5th in the 1 mile, Antoinette Ausby placed 4th in the high jump. The following week the team went to George Mason University, Outstanding performances was turned in by Altimase Thomas (60.40sec) which was good enough for fourth place, Andre Faulcon placed second in the 200m (22.53), Ricardo Lacue (22.93) placed 4th in the same race, Omar Walden freshmen from New York placed second in the 400m (51.77), Joe Williams placed 3rd in the long jump. The following week we competed at Christopher Newport University, Joe Williams won the Long Jump 23’6 ½”, and placed 2nd in the triple jump, Andre Faulcon placed second in the long jump with 22’ 7 ½” and placed 2nd and 3rd in the 200m (22.55) & 60m (6.92). Anthony Payouway placed 6th in the 400m (51:58), Ricardo Lacue placed 7th in the very competitive 200m (22.72). The next meet was the Historical Black College meet in Landover Maryland, outstanding performances were turned in by Antoinette Ausby placing 5th in the High Jump, the Women’s 4x 400m Relay of West, the Thomas twins and Christina Ashe placed 6th. Kelly Bates won the Men’s Pole Vault with 11’ 6”. Andre Faulcon continues his good form by placing 5th in the 60m dash against some very good competition. The men sprint-medley team placed 5th. Joe Williams placed 6th in the triple Jump with a jump of 47’9”. The next meet was the CIAA Indoor Championship. Andre Faulcon solidifies the fact that he is the fastest man in the CIAA. Freshman Shannon Bolding also proved that he is the best Pole-Vaulter in the CIAA. Both Faulcon and Boling went undefeated in their respective events, helping the Men’s Team to a second place finish in the CIAA indoor championship. The Women’s team finished fourth with 38points. The Lady Trojans Erica Mcbride received All-CIAA honors finishing third in the HighJump (5’), Christina Ashe received All-CIAA honors placing third in the LongJump (17’ ½”), Ashe also placed 4th in both the High Jump (5’) and Triple Jump (36’7”). The Women’s 4x400m Relay team of Ausby (58), Hill (1:03), West (1:03), Altimase Thomas (58) received All-CIAA honors placing third in a very competitive 4x400mrelay. Outstanding performances were turned in by Altimase Thomas placing 6th in both the 400m dash (59.51) and shot put (30’ 3 ¾”), despite battling a hamstring injury. Freshman Candice Brown finished 6th in the women’s 1-mile run (6:03). Antoinette Ausby placed 4th in the 60mHurdles running a season best time of 9 seconds just missing National qualifying mark of 8.99. Teresa Watson placed 6th in the Long Jump (16’ 5 ¾”). The women distance medley Team of Candice Brown (1200m), Rayvon Stanley (800m), Cierra West (400m), Chateece Chappelle (1Mile) finished 4th. The Lady Trojans Finished 4th place as a team scoring 38 points. The Men’s Team manages to finished second outlasting teams like North Carolina Central, Livingstone College, and Bowie State University. Freshman Shannon Boling was crowned Indoor CIAA Pole-Vault Champion. Andre Faulcon was the fastest man in the CIAA taking gold in the 60m dash (6.80) and 200m (21.89), winning the first Indoor 200m race in the CIAA. Faulcon also received All-CIAA honors in the Long Jump (23’ 3 ¼”). Faulcon was crowned CIAA Track athlete of the meet. Joseph Williams also received ALL-CIAA honors in the triple Jump (47’ 1”), he also placed 4th in both the Long Jump (22’ 11 ¾”), and High Jump (6’ 6”). Shamel Williams placed 5th in the 60mHurdles (8.77). Ricardo Lacue placed 5th in the Triple Jump (44’4 ¼”). Roy Rogers placed 4th in the shot put (40’). Men’s 4x400m Relay team of (Faulcon, Lacue, Payouway, Walden) finished 5th. The season Finale was the NCAA division 11 Indoor National Championship, in Boston MA. March 11-13th 2005. Andre Faulcon Qualified in three events, Long Jump, 60m Dash, 200m Dash. He received ALL-American honors in both the Long Jump and 60m Dash. This was a good ending to a very good season by Faulcon. Team Joseph Williams and fellow New Jersey native qualified in the Long Jump and Triple Jump, Joe received ALL-American honors in the Triple Jump with season best jump of 49’ 1”, also a very good end to a very productive Indoor Season.
