Women's Health Care
SHS provides education about women's health care. The nurse practitioner provide routine gynecological care, including an annual pap smear. Other services include diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases, contraceptive counseling and prescriptions, pregnancy testing, counseling, and information on disease prevention. Allergy Injection Guidelines
Students may receive their allergy shots by appointment only. Students who receive allergy shots must provide their allergy serum. It is required that the student's personal physician administer the first shot of the series and send detailed instructions to the Student Health for subsequent injections.


Lab Test
There is a charge for all lab services including: pregnancy testing, throat cultures, and other lab services that are sent out for testing. Charges will appear on your student account after services have been rendered. If, desired you may charge fees for laboratory test to your medical insurance. Lab results are usually available in 24 hours.


Pharmacy Guidelines

Prescription orders are written by the nurse practitioner and  during their office hours, and are given to the student to  have filled at any drug store or pharmacy.   Student Health does not dispense prescribed medications; however, some over-the-counter samples are available.

Health Insurance

For students who have no insurance or who may want to supplement their present medical insurance coverage, the University is pleased to offer student health care plans.  The Insurance package will be sent to all students at their home address.  Insurance information is available in the Student Health Center.
