In first quarter action, the Trojans went 10 plays for 44-yds that resulted in a 37-yd field goal by kicker Musa Conteh to make the score 3-0. The Trojans have the #1 defense in the CIAA and showed it early in the first quarter. SS Keith Johnson, who leads the team in interceptions with 5, picked off Panther QB Michael Henderson, and ran 46-yds into the endzone, to extend the Trojans lead to 10-0 as the clock expired in the first quarter. In the second quarter neither team looked sharp on offense, as both defenses were consistent in stopping the opposing the teams offense. The Trojan defense continued to control the Panthers offense only allowing 198-yds of total offense on 55 plays. With 2 minutes left in the game RB Dennis Jones sealed the coffin with a 36-yd TD run in the fourth quarter. The Panthers finally scored their only points when QB Michael Henderson connected with WR Herb Jones for a 17-yd TD. The Trojans will now face the Bears of Shaw University for Eastern Division showdown at Rogers Stadium on October 23rd.
