The Virginia State University 1Card is the official identification and security card for all VSU students, faculty and staff. New students are issued their cards during Registration, while returning students will have their cards activated before the Fall semester. The 1Card is needed to obtain various services such as:
The VSU 1Card offers several advantages to students at the University.
It eliminates the need to carry cash.
It offers parents a means of controlling expenses and ensuring that students have money for specific needs.
It is safe, as you will need a PIN number for some purchases.
It makes the University safer as only residents can enter their assigned residence halls with this card.
Allows students to learn to live within a budget, helping to reduce the trend of credit card fraud.
Offering security, as students need a unique PIN number for some activites, plus the can deactivate lost or stolen cards online by making a quick call to the VSU Police Department or 1Card Office.
What if I lose my 1Card?
A quick call to the Department of Police and Public Safety will deactivate your card. You may also deactivate your lost or stolen cards online (reactivation fee applies) by visiting http://1cardweb/1card
What can I do with my 1Card?
Your VSU 1Card can be used at the following locations:
Dining Dollars - Once fully implemented, you will be able to use your dining dollars to purchase ala carte items at any dining facility other than in Jones Dining Hall.

Copier/Printing Dollars - Copier/Printing Dollars or Trojan Dollars are required in order to use the microfiche printers, copiers, or any of the computer printers in Johnston Memorial Library.
Laundry Dollars - All residence halls have laundry rooms equipped with modern washers and dryers. You may use your Laundry Dollars or Trojan Dollars on any of the machines and avoid the need to have change.
Bookstore Dollars - You will need your 1Card in order to obtain a Book Voucher during registration. In addition, you will be able to use Bookstore Dollars or Trojan Dollars to purchase any item in the Bookstore.
Trojan Dollars - These are all purpose dollars that may be used for any of the above listed items. In addition, Trojan Dollars may be used on vending machines equipped with card readers and off-campus merchants.
Security - Card readers are installed on the main door to all residence halls. Your 1Card is needed to enter your assigned residence hall.
How do I put money on my 1Card?
VSU students have the capability to view their accounts online and deposit money on their 1Card via Automatic Deposit Machines (ADM). These can be found at the following locations:
Johnston Memorial Library
Jones Dining Hall
Foster Hall
Students can also make a deposit at the 1Card Office which is located at the UTS Building.
When you wish to make a purchase in person present your VSU 1Card for payment. For phone-in orders, provide your VSU 1Card account number (V#) to the merchant. Upon arrival of delivery you will be asked to present you 1Card for verification.

The VSU 1Card has enhanced the servies available to students. VSU is pleased to introduce students to the Web Access System http://1cardweb/1card which allows students to:
view their account balances online
check meal plans and financial status transactions

Also in the limelight, beginning this fall, the VSU 1Card Office will implement 1Web, which enables students, parents, faculty and staff to make deposits online to their 1Card Trojan Dollar account.Online deposits can be made using Master Card, Visa, American Express and/or Discover cards. Also, do not forget:An increase was granted for financial aid transfers to your Trojan Dollar Account(s).Freshmen can transfer up to $200.00, while sophomores, juniors, and seniors can transfer an amount not to exceed $300.00 per semester (all in $50, $100 or $150.00 increments).
Faculty/Staff
The faculty/staff meal plan has been revised to include reduced pricing. Please click here for the meal plan application. The 25 block meal plan can be purchased using payroll deduction or cash for $124.00, the 50 block plan is now $237.00, and the 75 block plan is $335.00.The payroll deduction form can be accessed at our website.
Finally, you asked for it and now it is here!!!Payroll deduction has been added as an incentive for faculty and staff to use their “Trojan Dollar” accounts.
