Help Desk

Telephone and Walk-in Consulting

OIT Helpdesk (Faculty/Staff only): (804) 524-5210
ACS Helpdesk (Student): (804) 524-5929
CTC: (804) 524-5859

The Help Desk is the first place to turn with your computer-related questions or problems. If you are seeking help for a specific desktop computer application (i.e., Microsoft Word) or operating system, you may call Computer Technology Center (CTC) directly. When in doubt, however, call the Help Desk. They will forward your call to CTC when necessary.

For most questions and problems, the telephone or e-mail are the fastest ways to get help. When faculty/staff call from their computers, consultants often can help them fix the problem or complete the task themselves. When the question cannot be answered or the problem cannot be solved over the phone, consultants may make an appointment with them to take their computer to the Office of Equipment Support Services Technician for further work. Faculty/staff must have an appointment with a Support Services Technician.

Finally, faculty/staff or students may send questions to Software Support by sending e-mail to Helpdesk@vsu.edu. Messages will be forwarded to appropriate consultants who will individually reply to the client.

OIT and ACS Helpdesk staffs are available Monday through Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm in room 51B of the Administrative Support Center and in room 209 Harris Hall respectively.
