7th Annual Conference on Social Injustice
Published date: January 14, 2019
The Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice will be hosting its annual conference on the campus of Virginia State University (Petersburg, VA) on Thursday – Friday, April 11-12, 2019. The theme of this year’s conference is “Modernization and Globalization in the 21st Century.”
This conference comes up at a time when the world is becoming a global village. The pace of modernization and global integration has dramatically increased over the years, thereby making the world more interdependent than ever. Obviously, globalization has impacted lives, international trade, economy, politics, cultures, laws and order, information technology, education and many other aspects of society. This condition of interdependency in the world today has given rise to a conference that could bring people with diverse thinking and ideas, from different disciplines to brain storm on the issues that follow. We are expecting participation from intellectuals around the world.
