VSU Board Member Selected for the 2018 Executive Women in Business Achievement Award

Jennifer Hunter, member of the Virginia State University (VSU) Board of Visitors (BOV), was selected as one of Style Weekly’s 2018 Executive Women in Business. Hunter is the senior vice president of communications and corporate citizenship at Altria.
Style Weekly selected each honoree for their hard work, determination and service to the community. Additionally, the women selected are champions of change and curious go-getters with diverse backgrounds.
“On behalf of the Virginia State University community, we applaud Visitor Jennifer Hunter for being recognized as a champion of change,” VSU President Makola M. Abdullah said. “Visitor Hunter’s passion and dedication in making a difference in the lives of others is remarkable. She is truly blazing a pathway of success for others to follow.”
Currently, Hunter serves as the chairman of the Altria Companies Employee Community Fund, a member of the Executive Leadership Council, and vice chair of the Board of Directors for Communities in Schools of Virginia. Furthermore, Hunter chairs the Institutional Advancement Committee for the VSU BOV and serves on the Board of the United Negro College Fund.
She received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Wisconsin.
Hunter, along with the other honorees, will be recognized during the 12th Annual Executive Women in Business Achievement Awards luncheon scheduled for noon, July 26 at the Troutman Sanders LLP.
