Campus Vote Project

Published date: November 3, 2020

Greeting Trojans! The November 2020 elections are upon us, and we want to ensure you head to the polls prepared. This November is the 2020 Presidential Election, along with various state and local elections in the state of Virginia. As we have many Trojans from all over the U.S we want to ensure that if you are on campus during this time, or a Virginia resident that you are able to vote. The VSU Democracy fellows for Campus Vote Project have put together this information sheet to clarify any questions you may have about registration deadlines, along with contacts and link resources for voter registration.

In the state of Virginia, you must have an acceptable form of identification in order to vote. Some of the most common acceptable forms of ID include a Driver’s License and a U.S Passport. Voter Registration with Campus Address
As a Trojan you are assigned an on-campus address, which is 1 Hayden Drive and your P.O box. If you are currently still in Ettrick Apartments, or are in the Petersburg area and are registered under your campus address your locality will be under Chesterfield County. Being under your campus address your polling location will be the Multipurpose Center. For students who are registered to vote with their campus address and are now home, please remember to change your registration to the location where you reside. If you would like to switch your registration or register to vote under your campus address click here. Also if you have further questions about registering to vote as a college student, click here.

I would like to leave you with these two quotes by the Rev. Dr.Martin Luther King Jr.
“ Voting is the foundation stone for political action."
“ Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”
Let’s take action and allow our vote to be our voice. See you at the poll Trojans!
