Each Committee will establish all the goals and objectives for their respective area which they feel are necessary to attain in order to achieve the overall planning goals and for the University to advance. These work area goals and objectives should include both near and long term items. While they should be clear, it is not always necessary that they be totally well defined. And, there is no obligation at this point to give detail on how they will be achieved, nor address cost and funding issues. What is important is to be inclusive and comprehensive, to include everything that is necessary
The goals and objectives developed by the Committee should be cast in the form of bulleted action items (e.g., Academic Excellence Committee, one Action Item: “Develop a Master’s degree program in HPER”). Very little if any narrative should be necessary. Thus, the result of each Committee’s work will be a listing of bulleted action items. These action items can be separated into different groups or groupings if there are various different topics.
THE CO-CHAIRS OF EACH COMMITTEE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR DIRECTING THE COMMITTEE’S WORK AND FOR PRODUCING THE FINAL REPORT.
