Virginia State University has nearly doubled our challenge gift of $25,000 from the VSU Real Estate Foundation. In total, 139 donors contributed $45,203 to the challenge, bringing the total raised to $70,203. The largest gift of $20,000 was received from the Wells Fargo Foundation. The monies will support the Trojan Spirit Fund, which provides immediate support to students seeking assistance for housing, food, transportation and other academic resources.
“We are thankful for the support of every donor and the Wells Fargo Foundation for their contributions to support our students. Students have demonstrated their resilience to overcome swift transition in uncertain and unprecedented times. The support that we received has helped and continues to help ease the burden that our students are navigating,” said Charmica E. Harris, Interim Associate Vice President for Institutional Advancement. Students in need of assistance can complete an application for the Trojan Spirit Fund assistance through the VSU Division of Student Success and Engagement.
