Tuition Assistance Fund

Founded in 1882 as the Nation’s first fully state supported HBCU, Virginia State University prides itself on being the birth place where generations of some of the best and brightest have started their journey towards "Building a Better World".

Unfortunately, our nation’s economy has taken a toll on many of our students and their families; and as a result, promising VSU students are at risk of withdrawing from school each year due to a lack of financial resources.

The Tuition Assistance Fund provides critical funds to immediately help those students stay in school and fulfill their dream of receiving a college education.  You have the power to give some of our most deserving students a chance to build a better world.

While in school, I have experienced financial need in many areas. Through VSU’s Tuition Assistance Fund, I was able to continue my education. Tuition Assistance funds allowed me to purchase the books and software I needed to stay in school and succeed in my major. With the help I received from this fund, I will graduate and be the first person in my family to earn a bachelor’s degree and the first to attend graduate school. ~ Hyisheem Calier, President of the Student Government Association
