Government Affairs
The Director of Government Affairs coordinates and strengthens relationships between Virginia State University and local governments, the Virginia General Assembly, and the Federal government.
The office is a principal liaison to key internal and external constituencies as it relates to governmental agencies and policymakers, and various community organizations.
Mission Statement
Reporting directly to the University President, the Virginia State University Government Affairs Director will, with an entrepreneurial and strategic mindset, provide high-quality unparalleled customer service to the University’s far-reaching multi-layered community by creating, nurturing, and continually expanding crucial relationships with federal, state, and local officials, community stakeholders, and higher-education colleagues that advance public policies at all levels favorable to Higher Education in the Commonwealth, Virginia State University and its comprehensive strategic vision for the future our institution.
