VSU is embarking on an exciting journey, a strategic moment in its history.
An update of our campus master plan, last published in 2007, will help VSU create its vision for a sustainable and prosperous future. A Master Plan is a comprehensive long range plan intended to guide growth and development of VSU.
Hanbury Evans Wright Vlattas + Company, a national leader in campus planning and design, has been selected to assist use with this journey. A fundamental part of their process is to gain an understanding of VSU’s own story and distinction, history and culture.
A critical part of this process has been YOUR input! A series of focus group discussions, forums, meetings and interviews have occurred to consider what you love about VSU and the dreams you hold for its future, such as:
- What do you think is important for the master planning team to know about campus?
- What do you love about campus? Where is the heart of campus? Where do you like to: Hang out? Study? Eat? Play?
- What concerns do you have? What do you see as our biggest needs?
- What should the priorities be for campus facilities?
As this input has been gathered, Hanbury Evans is also assessing current campus conditions and future opportunities to ensure not only that all voices are heard and but that decisions are informed and made with VSU leadership appropriately at the helm. The outcome will be a stakeholder-owned and community-approved plan that is flexible, usable and implementable, comprehensive and inspirational.
